Slide 1

Then Jesus went out and made His way, as He customarily did, to the Mount of Olives, and the disciples followed Him. – Slide 1

Slide 2

When He came to the place, He said to them, ‘Pray that you will not fall into temptation.’ – Slide 2

Slide 3

He went away from them about a stone’s throw, knelt down, and prayed, ‘Father, if you are willing, take this cup away from me. Yet not my will but yours be done.’ – Slide 3

Slide 4

Then an angel from heaven appeared to Jesus and strengthened Him. – Slide 4

Slide 5

And in His anguish he prayed more earnestly … – Slide 5

Slide 6

… and His sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground. – Slide 6

Slide 7

Then He came and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, ‘Simon, are you sleeping? Couldn’t you stay awake for one hour? Stay awake and pray that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.’ – Slide 7

Slide 8

He went away again and prayed the same thing. – Slide 8

Slide 9

When Jesus came again He found them sleeping; they could not keep their eyes open. And they did not know what to tell Him. – Slide 9

Slide 10

He came a third time and said to them, ‘Are you still sleeping and resting? Enough of that! The hour has come. Look, the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. Get up, let us go. Look! My betrayer is approaching!’ – Slide 10

Slide 11

While He was still speaking, suddenly a crowd appeared, and the man named Judas, one of the twelve, was leading them. – Slide 11

Slide 12

He walked up to Jesus to kiss Him. But Jesus said to him, ‘Judas, would you betray the Son of Man with a kiss?’ – Slide 12

Slide 13

When those who were around Him saw what was about to happen, they said, ‘Lord, should we use our swords?’ – Slide 13

Slide 14

Then Peter struck the high priest’s slave, cutting off his right ear. – Slide 14

Slide 15

But Jesus said, ‘Enough of this!’ – Slide 15

Slide 16

And He touched the man’s ear and healed him. – Slide 16

Slide 17

At that moment Jesus said to the crowd, ‘Have you come out with swords and clubs to arrest me like you would an outlaw? – Slide 17

Slide 18

Day after day I sat teaching in the temple courts, yet you did not arrest me. But this has happened so that the scriptures of the prophets would be fulfilled.’ – Slide 18

Slide 19

Then all the disciples left Jesus and fled. – Slide 19
