Slide 1

Suddenly there was a severe earthquake, for an angel of the Lord, descending from heaven, came and rolled away the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning and his clothes were white as snow. – Slide 1

Slide 2

The guards were shaken ... – Slide 2

Slide 3

... and became like dead men as they were so afraid of him. – Slide 3

Slide 4

When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Salome ... – Slide 4

Slide 5

... brought aromatic spices so they might go and anoint Jesus. – Slide 5

Slide 6

But when they arrived, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away. – Slide 6

Slide 7

Then, as they went into the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in white robes sitting on the right side and they were alarmed. – Slide 7

Slide 8

But he said to them, 'Do not be alarmed. You are looking for Jesus, the Nazarene who was crucified. He has been raised. He is not here.’ – Slide 8

Slide 9

‘Look! There is the place where they laid Him. But go tell His disciples, even Peter, that He is going ahead of you into Galilee.’ – Slide 9

Slide 10

‘You will see Him there just as He told you.’ – Slide 10

Slide 11

And when they returned from the tomb, they told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest. – Slide 11

Slide 12

Now it was Mary, Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James and the other women with them who told these things to the apostles. But these words seemed pure nonsense and they did not believe them. – Slide 12

Slide 13

Then Peter and the other disciple set out to go to the tomb. The two were running together. The other disciple ran faster than Peter and reached the tomb first. – Slide 13

Slide 14

He bent down and saw the strips of linen cloth lying there. He did not go in. – Slide 14

Slide 15

Then Simon Peter who had been following him went right into the tomb. – Slide 15

Slide 16

He saw the strips of linen cloth lying there and the facecloth, which had been around Jesus' head, not lying with the strips of linen cloth but rolled up in a place by itself. – Slide 16

Slide 17

Then the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, came in and saw and believed. – Slide 17

Slide 18

For they did not yet understand the scripture that Jesus must rise from the dead. – Slide 18

Slide 19

So the disciples went back to their home. – Slide 19
