Abraham rescues Lot

When Lot is taken prisoner Abram rescues him.

Lot had chosen to live in the wicked city of Sodom with his family. – Slide 1

While Abram had travelled in the other direction to live at Hebron. – Slide 2

One day the king of Sodom went into battle and lost. His enemies raided the city of Sodom, stealing their belongings and food. They raided the home of Lot and took him and his family prisoner. – Slide 3

Lot and all he owned were captured and he and the other prisoners were led away towards the land of the enemy. – Slide 4

One man in Sodom had escaped when the enemy raided and he rushed to Hebron to tell Abram what had happened to his nephew Lot. – Slide 5

Abram quickly gathered 318 men working for him and set off to rescue Lot. They had to travel many miles north to catch up with them. They spotted them near a place called Dan. – Slide 6

That night Abram and his men crept up on the enemies and attacked them. The enemy soldiers ran away and Abram and his men chased after them. – Slide 7

Abram rescued Lot and the other prisoners and all their belongings and brought them back to their homes. – Slide 8

Melchizedek, king of Salem, brought out bread and wine for Abram. He was priest of the Most High God and blessed Abram. He gave praise to God for helping Abram defeat the enemies and giving him victory. – Slide 9

The king of Sodom said to Abram, ‘Give me the people and keep the goods for yourself.’ But Abram replied, ‘I have promised God, who gave me victory, that I will not take anything from you. Then you will not be able to say that you made me rich. But let my men who fought with me take their share’ – Slide 10
