Slide 1

One day, as Jesus was standing by Lake of Galilee, crowds gathered to hear Him teach about God. So many wanted to hear what He had to say they pressed closer and closer to the shore. – Slide 1

Slide 2

At the water’s edge were two boats, left there by the fishermen, who were washing their nets. Jesus got into one of the boats, belonging to Simon (Peter), and asked him to put out a little from the shore. – Slide 2

Slide 3

Then Jesus sat down and taught the people from the boat. – Slide 3

Slide 4

When Jesus had finished speaking, He said to Simon, ‘Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.’ – Slide 4

Slide 5

Simon answered, ‘Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything But because you say so, I will let down the nets.’ – Slide 5

Slide 6

Peter cast his net and to his amazement they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break. – Slide 6

Slide 7

So they signalled their fishing partners James and John, the sons of Zebedee, in the other boat to come and help them. – Slide 7

Slide 8

James and John arrived to help and filled both boats so full that they began to sink. – Slide 8

Slide 9

When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus’ feet and said, ‘Go away from me, Lord; I am a sinful man!’ – Slide 9

Slide 10

He and all his companions were astonished at the catch of fish they had taken. – Slide 10

Slide 11

Then Jesus said to Simon, ‘Don’t be afraid; from now on you will fish for people.’ – Slide 11

Slide 12

The fisherman took their heavily laden boats back to the shore. – Slide 12

Slide 13

Having moored their boats they left everything and followed Jesus. – Slide 13

Slide 14

From now on they would be followers of Jesus and ‘fishing for people’. – Slide 14
