1
The Lord appointed seventy-two of His followers and sent them two by two ahead of Him to every town where he was about to visit. – Slide 1
2
Jesus told them, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest field. – Slide 2
3
‘Go! I am sending you out like lambs among wolves. Do not take a purse or bag or sandals; and do not greet anyone on the road. – Slide 3
4
‘When you enter a house, first say, “Peace to this house.” If someone who promotes peace is there, your peace will rest on them; if not, it will return to you. – Slide 4
5
‘Stay there, eating and drinking whatever they give you, for the worker deserves his wages. Do not move around from house to house. – Slide 5
6
‘When you enter a town and are welcomed, eat what is offered to you. Heal the sick who are there and tell them, “The kingdom of God has come near to you.” – Slide 6
7
‘If you enter a town and are not welcomed, go into its streets and say, “Even the dust of your town we wipe from our feet as a warning to you. However, be sure of this: The kingdom of God has come near.” I tell you, it will be more bearable on that day for Sodom than for that town. – Slide 7

“What horrors await you, you cities of Chorazin and Bethsaida! For if the miracles I did for you had been done in the cities of Tyre and Sidon, their people would have repented long ago, clothed in sackcloth and throwing ashes on their heads to show their remorse. Yes, Tyre and Sidon will receive less punishment on the Judgment Day than you. And as for the people of Capernaum, what shall I say? Will you be exalted to heaven? No, you shall be brought down to hell.” – Slide 8
9
Then Jesus said to the disciples, ‘Those who welcome you are welcoming me. And those who reject you are rejecting me. And those who reject me are rejecting God who sent me.’ – Slide 9
10
The 72 disciples went out into the nearby towns and villages, teaching about the Kingdom of God. – Slide 10
11
They shared the good news, healed the sick and cast out demons in the name of Jesus. – Slide 11
12
When the seventy disciples returned, they joyfully reported to Him, “Even the demons obey us when we use your name.” – Slide 12
13
‘Yes,’ Jesus replied, ‘I saw Satan falling from heaven as a flash of lightning! And I have given you authority over all the power of the Enemy, and to walk among serpents and scorpions and to crush them. Nothing shall injure you! However, the important thing is not that demons obey you, but that your names are registered as citizens of heaven.” – Slide 13
14
Then Jesus was filled with the joy of the Holy Spirit and said, ‘I praise you, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for hiding these things from the intellectuals and the worldly wise and for revealing them to those who are as trusting as little children. Yes, thank you, Father, for that is the way you wanted it. – Slide 14
