When you open any story to view the full set of images, there is a link at the top stating ‘Read Terms of Download’. Click this link to view the terms. When you download a set of images these same ‘Terms of Download’ are displayed for you to agree. The terms list the copyright holders of the images and confirm they are for personal and educational use.
A few contributors, such as Sweet Publishing, have licensed their image sets using a Creative Commons license that allows commercial reuse with attribution to the copyright holder.
Most however, use a Creative Commons license that allows reuse of the images in new projects providing they are not commercially sold or money gained from their use. You will need to get the permission of the copyright holder in writing to use any of their images in any media intended for sale.
Some use a Creative Commons license that states ‘no derivatives’. The contributor is happy for you to use them in the format you downloaded them from FreeBibleimages but does not allow you to reuse them in new media or products without their permission in writing.
Some contributors state ‘All rights reserved’. You can display their images as you teach or tell a story but you need their written permission for any other use.
Please abide by the ‘Terms of Download’. Contributing artists and organisations have made them freely available so anyone can use them for teaching the Bible. Please do not use the images in any ways not permitted in the ‘Terms of Download’, without getting the permission of the copyright holder in writing first.
You are able to use 2-3 images from any set on a blog or web page. However, you cannot post a full set of images online as this would allow people to download the set without agreeing to the ‘Terms of Download’ the Contributor has agreed with FreeBibleimages. If you want others to be able to download a complete set, please create a link from your blog or web page to the set at FreeBibleimages. This way, your visitors agree to the ‘Terms of Download’ from our web site.
All we ask if you want to use any of our images on a blog or web page, is that you give attribution to the Copyright holder and FreeBibleimages as declared in the ‘Terms of Download’.
You cannot use any images in printed media where the ‘Terms of Download’ state ‘No-derivatives’ or ‘All rights reserved’. You will need the permission of the copyright holder in writing to do this.
If you intend to sell your printed publication, or make it available through subscription, you cannot use any images where the ‘Terms of Download’ state ‘No commercial use’. You will need the permission of the copyright holder in writing to do this.
Otherwise you can use our images in printed publications where the message is faithful to the Biblical account. They are not to be used in any context where the accompanying message undermines the Christian faith and gospel. Attribution for the use of the images should be given in the publications as declared in the ‘Terms of Download’.
You cannot use any images in e-publications where the ‘Terms of Download’ state ‘No-derivatives’ or ‘All rights reserved’. You will need the permission of the copyright holder in writing to do this.

You cannot use any images in video or film where the ‘Terms of Download’ state ‘No-derivatives’ or ‘All rights reserved’. You will need the permission of the copyright holder in writing to do this. The photographic images from the LUMO project in particular, cannot be reused in video or film as they create their own high budget films and have strict copyright terms on this matter.

All our ‘Terms of Download’ forbid anyone posting any of our full sets of images on any other web site or media, other than FreeBibleimages. This is because all the contributors and copyright holders of the images have licensed distribution exclusively through our web site under their own ‘Terms of Download’ agreed with FreeBibleimages. They do not allow their image sets to appear on any site which they have not approved and over which they have no control of the content.
If you want others to be able to download our files please create a link from your web site to the relevant page at FreeBibleimages. This allows your users to access the files and agree the ‘Terms of Download’.
