Elisha and the floating axe head

An axe head is lost in the river Jordan.

The group of the prophets said to Elisha, ‘The place where we meet with you is too small for us. Let’s go to the Jordan River and build a new place there for us to live.’ <br/>Elisha agreed and went with them. – Slide 1

When they arrived at the River Jordan, they cut down some trees. As one man was cutting down a tree, the head of his axe fell into the water. – Slide 2

He yelled, ‘Oh, my master Elisha! I borrowed that axe! Now it is lost in the deep water. Iron axe heads are so expensive.’ <br/>Elisha asked, ‘Where did the iron axe head fall?’ The man showed Elisha the place. – Slide 3

Elisha cut down a stick and threw it into the water. Suddenly the iron head floated to the surface. Elisha said, ‘Pick up the axe head.’ The man was able to reach out and pick it out of the water. – Slide 4
