Paul's nephew reports a plot

A plan to kill Paul is revealed by his nephew.

Paul went to the Temple in Jerusalem to worship. – Slide 1

Paul was recognised by some religious Jews who wanted him to stop talking about Jesus. – Slide 2

A mob gathered to attack Paul and they dragged him out of the temple. They started to beat him. – Slide 3

When the commander of the Roman troops saw what was happening, he sent his soldiers to arrest Paul and put him in chains. Paul tried to speak to the crowd about Jesus but they were so angry they wanted to kill him. – Slide 4

Paul was then taken to the Roman barracks and locked up. – Slide 5

The next morning, more than forty men gathered and made a vow that they would not eat or drink until they had killed Paul. They devised a plan to trick the Roman commander to bring Paul from prison to the Jewish council, so they could kill him on the way. – Slide 6

But Paul’s nephew, overheard a conversation about these plans. – Slide 7

Paul then sent his nephew to tell the Roman commander about the plot. – Slide 8

The Roman commander listened to Paul’s nephew and believed what he said. – Slide 9

The commander called for a strong escort of two hundred soldiers, seventy horsemen, and two hundred spearmen to transport Paul to another city in the middle of the night. <br/>Paul was safe due to the courage of his nephew! – Slide 10
