Jesus died on a cross to take the punishment we deserve for doing wrong. He died so that we could be forgiven and be friends with God. – Slide 1

Jesus’ body was taken from the cross and put in a tomb. He had suffered and died for us. – Slide 2

A large stone was rolled across the entrance of the tomb. – Slide 3

Mary, the mother of Jesus, and all of Jesus friends were very sad that He was no longer alive. – Slide 4

Three days later, Mary and some of her friends got up early to go to the tomb where Jesus was buried. They carried spices and perfumes to wrap around the body of Jesus. – Slide 5

They were all very sad as they missed Jesus so much. And they wondered how they would be able to roll the large stone away from the entrance of the tomb. – Slide 6

But when they got to the tomb the stone was already rolled back. And when they looked inside the body of Jesus was missing. – Slide 7

As they entered the tomb they saw an angel and were alarmed. ‘Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus,’ the angel said. – Slide 8

‘He is not here, He has risen, just as He said He would. Come and see the place where He lay. – Slide 9

The women were so happy hear that God had raised Jesus to live again. They didn’t need their spices. Jesus was alive! <br/>The angel told them to go and tell Jesus’ friends the good news. Jesus is alive! – Slide 10

So the women rushed back feeling ever so happy. They had such good news to tell. <br/>The tomb was empty. Jesus is alive! And God had made a way to us to be forgiven and be His friend. – Slide 11
