A large crowd had gathered to hear Jesus. When the sun was beginning to set, the twelve disciples came to Jesus and said, ‘Send the people away to the villages and farms around here to find food and lodging, because this is a lonely place.’ – Slide 1

Jesus answered, ‘They don’t need to go away. You give them some food to eat.’ Philip replied, ‘It would take a year to earn the money needed to buy bread for all these people.’ <br/>Andrew then said, ‘Here is a boy with five loaves of barley bread and two little fish. But that is not enough to feed for so many people.’ – Slide 2

Jesus said, ‘Tell the people to sit down on the grass.” There were about 5,000 men who sat down there. Then Jesus took the loaves of bread. He thanked God for the bread and gave it to the people who were sitting there. He did the same with the fish.’ – Slide 3

The disciples then handed out the food and everyone had plenty to eat. – Slide 4

When they had finished, Jesus said to His followers, ‘Gather the pieces of fish and bread that were not eaten. Don’t waste anything.’ So they gathered up the pieces that were left. They filled 12 large baskets with the pieces that were left of the five barley loaves. – Slide 5

Everyone was amazed at the miracle of the five loaves of bread and the two fish that feed over 5,000 people. – Slide 6
