Philip suddenly saw the chariot of the Ethiopian man returning from Jerusalem. God told him to go over to the chariot and stay near it. <br/>So Philip ran toward the chariot. He heard the man reading from Isaiah, the prophet. Philip asked, ‘Do you understand what you are reading?’ – Slide 7

‘How can I understand? I need someone to explain it to me!’ The Ethiopian replied. Then he invited Philip to climb in and sit with him. – Slide 8

The Ethiopian had been reading what Isaiah had written about Jesus many years ago. Isaiah had written about a sheep who would be killed to take the punishment for our wrong doing. Philip explained that the sheep Isaiah was talking about was Jesus, the lamb of God. Then he told him the good news about Jesus. – Slide 9

While they were travelling down the road, they came to some water. The Ethiopian said, ‘Look! Here is water! What is stopping me from being baptised?’ – Slide 10

Both Philip and the Ethiopian went down into the water, and Philip baptised him. – Slide 11
