Jesus is being threatened. Some people want to stone Him. He leaves Galilee with a group of followers, both men and women, to carry on with His work in other parts of Israel. – Slide 1

On the way He asked, ‘Who do the people say that I am?’ <br/>They replied, ‘Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.’ – Slide 3

Jesus then headed towards Jerusalem. He warned his disciples ‘Don’t tell anyone. The Messiah has to go to Jerusalem to suffer and to die. But on the third day, He will rise up from the grave.’ – Slide 7

People in those days often witnessed the Romans giving a cruel death penalty to criminals, called crucifixion. <br/>Jesus said, ‘Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.’ – Slide 8

‘Whoever holds onto his own life will lose it. But whoever lets go of his life for me will find it.’ – Slide 9

‘What good is it to gain the whole world, yet lose your soul?’ – Slide 10

Jesus then declared. ‘For one day I am going to come in my Father’s glory and with His angels. Then each person will be rewarded according to what they have done.’ – Slide 11
