Jesus questions Peter

Jesus asks Peter the same question three times about his love for Him and each time instructs him to feed His flock.

Jesus appeared after His resurrection to some of His disciples one morning on the shore of Lake Galilee. When they had finished eating, Jesus spoke with Simon Peter. – Slide 1
‘Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?’ asked Jesus – Slide 2
‘Yes, Lord,’ Peter replied, ‘you know that I love you.’ Jesus said, ‘Feed my lambs.’ – Slide 3
Again Jesus said, ‘Simon son of John, do you love me?’ – Slide 4
Peter answered, ‘Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.’ Jesus said, ‘Take care of my sheep.’ – Slide 5
Jesus asked him the same question a third time, ‘Simon son of John, do you love me?’ – Slide 6
Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, ‘Do you love me?’ He replied, ‘Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.’ – Slide 7
Jesus said, ‘Feed my sheep. When you were younger you dressed yourself and went where you wanted; but when you are old you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and lead you where you do not want to go’ Jesus was explaining the way Peter would die to bring glory to God. – Slide 8
Then Jesus said to Peter, ‘Follow me!’ – Slide 9
Peter asked what would happen to John. Jesus answered, ‘If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you?’ – Slide 10
‘You must follow me.’ Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written. – Slide 11
