One of the ten healed returns to thank Jesus.
Contributed by LUMO project
Jesus was on the way to Jerusalem, travelling along the border between Samaria and Galilee. – Slide 1
As He was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met Him. – Slide 2
Leprosy was a very infectious skin disease and those with it had to live outside the city away from other people and shout they were unclean if anyone came near. – Slide 3
They stood at a distance and shouted loudly, ‘Jesus, Master, have pity on us!’ – Slide 4
When Jesus saw them, He said, ‘Go, show yourselves to the priests.’ – Slide 5
They turned and went off to find a priest. Only a priest could declare they were free of leprosy. – Slide 6
As they went they were healed. – Slide 7
Their sores were gone. Their pain was gone. Their skin was clear and clean. – Slide 8
One of the ten men, a Samaritan, when he saw he was healed, ran back to Jesus, praising God in a loud voice. He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked Him. – Slide 9
Jesus asked, ‘Were not all ten men healed? Where are the other nine? Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?’ – Slide 10
Then Jesus told the Samaritan, ‘Get up and go. Your faith has made you well.’ – Slide 11
