The Teachers of the Law and the Pharisees brought in a woman they had caught committing adultery. – Slide 3

They put her in front of everyone and said to Jesus, ‘Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery.’ – Slide 4

‘In the Law, Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?’ They were using this question to trap Jesus, so they could accuse Him of not following the Jewish law. – Slide 5

When they kept questioning Jesus, He straightened up and said, ‘Let any of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.’ – Slide 8

Those who heard, thought for a while then began to go away one at a time. The older ones left first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. – Slide 10

Jesus straightened up and asked her, ‘Woman, where are they? Has no-one condemned you?’ ‘No-one Sir,’ she replied. – Slide 11

‘Then I don’t condemn you either,’ said Jesus. ‘Go now and leave your life of sin.’ – Slide 12
