49: Who is Jesus? Jesus Teaches and Promises to Send the Holy Spirit.
John 14:15-17
‘If you love me, obey my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative— that is, the Holy Spirit—He will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you.’ – Slide 1

50: Jesus Teaches about the Sanctity of Marriage and Divorce.
Matthew 19:3-6, 9
Some Pharisees came to Him to test Him. They asked, ‘Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any and every reason?’
‘Haven’t you read,’ He replied, ‘that at the beginning the Creator “made them male and female,” and said, “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh? So, they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, let no one separate. I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery.”’ – Slide 2

51: Jesus Predicts His Upcoming Death and Resurrection.
John 16:20-24
‘I tell you the truth, you will weep and mourn over what is going to happen to me, but the world will rejoice. You will grieve, but your grief will suddenly turn to wonderful joy. It will be like a woman suffering the pains of labour. When her child is born, her anguish gives way to joy because she has brought a new baby into the world. So you have sorrow now, but I will see you again; then you will rejoice, and no one can rob you of that joy. At that time you won’t need to ask me for anything. I tell you the truth, you will ask the Father directly, and He will grant your request because you use my name. You haven’t done this before. Ask, using my name, and you will receive, and you will have abundant joy.’ – Slide 3

52: Jesus Prays for His Disciples and for All Who Will Believe in Him.
John 17:15-21
‘I’m not asking you to take them out of the world, but to keep them safe from the evil one. ‘They do not belong to this world any more than I do. ‘Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth. ‘Just as you sent me into the world, I am sending them into the world. And I give myself as a holy sacrifice for them so they can be made holy by your truth. I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message. I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.’ – Slide 4

53: Jesus Celebrates the Passover and the Lord’s Supper.
Luke 22:17-20
Then He took a cup of wine and gave thanks to God for it. Then He said, ‘Take this and share it among yourselves. For I will not drink wine again until the Kingdom of God has come.’ He took some bread and gave thanks to God for it. Then He broke it in pieces and gave it to the disciples, saying, ‘This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.’ After supper He took another cup of wine and said, ‘This cup is the new covenant between God and His people—an agreement confirmed with my blood, which is poured out as a sacrifice for you.’ – Slide 5

54: What Did Jesus Do? Jesus Prays in the Garden of Gethsemane.
Mark 14:32-36
They went to the olive grove called Gethsemane, and Jesus said, ‘Sit here while I go and pray.’ He took Peter, James, and John with him, and He became deeply troubled and distressed. He told them, ‘My soul is crushed with grief to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.’ He went on a little farther and fell to the ground. He prayed that, if it were possible, the awful hour awaiting Him might pass Him by. ‘Abba, Father,’ He cried out, ‘everything is possible for you. Please take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.’ – Slide 6

55: Judas Betrays Jesus.
Matthew 27:3-65
When Judas, who had betrayed Him, realized that Jesus had been condemned to die, he was filled with remorse. So, he took the thirty pieces of silver back to the leading priests and the elders. ‘I have sinned,’ he declared, ‘for I have betrayed an innocent man.’ ‘What do we care?’ they retorted. ‘That’s your problem.’ Then Judas threw the silver coins down in the Temple and went out and hanged himself. – Slide 7

56: The Trial Before the Jewish High Priest Annas and Caiaphas. Peter Denies Jesus Three Times.
John 18:13-15, 24-27
First they took Him to Annas, since he was the father-in-law of Caiaphas, the high priest at that time. Caiaphas was the one who had told the other Jewish leaders, ‘It’s better that one man should die for the people.’ Simon Peter followed Jesus, as did another of the disciples. Then Annas bound Jesus and sent Him to Caiaphas, the high priest. … Meanwhile, as Simon Peter was standing by the fire warming himself, they asked him again, ‘You’re not one of His disciples, are you?’ But one of the household slaves of the high priest, a relative of the man whose ear Peter had cut off, asked, ‘Didn’t I see you out there in the olive grove with Jesus?’ Again, Peter denied it. And immediately a rooster crowed. – Slide 8

57: Jesus is Tried Before Pilate and Herod.
Luke 23:6-11
‘Oh, is He a Galilean?’ Pilate asked. When they said that He was, Pilate sent Him to Herod Antipas, because Galilee was under Herod’s jurisdiction, and Herod happened to be in Jerusalem at the time. Herod was delighted at the opportunity to see Jesus, because he had heard about Him and had been hoping for a long time to see Him perform a miracle. He asked Jesus question after question, but Jesus refused to answer. Meanwhile, the leading priests and the teachers of religious law stood there shouting their accusations. Then Herod and his soldiers began mocking and ridiculing Jesus. Finally, they put a royal robe on Him and sent Him back to Pilate. – Slide 9

58: Pilate Finds Jesus Innocent and Delivers Jesus to be Crucified.
John 19:1,13-16
Pilate tried to release Him, but the Jewish leaders shouted, ‘If you release this man, you are no “friend of Caesar.” Anyone who declares himself a king is a rebel against Caesar.’
When they said this, Pilate brought Jesus out to them again. Then Pilate sat down on the judgment seat on the platform that is called the Stone Pavement (in Hebrew, Gabbatha). It was now about noon on the day of preparation for the Passover. And Pilate said to the people, ‘Look, here is your king!’
‘Away with Him,’ they yelled. ‘Away with him! Crucify Him!’
‘What? Crucify your king?’ Pilate asked.
‘We have no king but Caesar,’ the leading priests shouted back. Then Pilate turned Jesus over to them to be crucified. – Slide 10

59: Jesus is Scourged, Mocked and Led to Golgotha to be Crucified.
Matthew 27:27-31
Some of the governor’s soldiers took Jesus into their headquarters and called out the entire regiment. They stripped Him and put a scarlet robe on Him. They wove thorn branches into a crown and put it on His head, and they placed a reed stick in His right hand as a sceptre. Then they knelt before Him in mockery and taunted, ‘Hail! King of the Jews!’ And they spit on Him and grabbed the stick and struck Him on the head with it. When they were finally tired of mocking Him, they took off the robe and put His own clothes on Him again. Then they led Him away to be crucified. – Slide 11

60: Jesus is Crucified Between Two Thieves on Golgatha.
Luke 23:32-34,39-43
Two others, both criminals, were led out to be executed with Him. When they came to a place called The Skull, they nailed Him to the cross. And the criminals were also crucified—one on His right and one on His left. Jesus said, ‘Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.’ And the soldiers gambled for His clothes by throwing dice. One of the criminals hanging beside Him scoffed, ‘So you’re the Messiah, are you? Prove it by saving yourself—and us, too, while you’re at it!’ But the other criminal protested, ‘Don’t you fear God even when you have been sentenced to die? We deserve to die for our crimes, but this man hasn’t done anything wrong.’ Then he said, ‘Jesus, remember me when you come into your Kingdom.’ And Jesus replied, ‘I assure you, today you will be with me in paradise.’ – Slide 12

61: Jesus’s Last Words on the Cross.
Luke 23:44-48
By this time it was about noon, and darkness fell across the whole land until three o’clock. The light from the sun was gone. And suddenly, the curtain in the sanctuary of the Temple was torn down the middle. Then Jesus shouted, ‘Father, I entrust my spirit into your hands!’ And with those words He breathed His last. When the Roman officer overseeing the execution saw what had happened, he worshiped God and said, ‘Surely this man was innocent.’ And when all the crowd that came to see the crucifixion saw what had happened, they went home in deep sorrow. – Slide 13

62: Jesus is Crucified.
John 19:28-30,36-37
Jesus knew that His mission was now finished, and to fulfil Scripture He said, ‘I am thirsty.’ A jar of sour wine was sitting there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put it on a hyssop branch, and held it up to His lips. When Jesus had tasted it, He said, ‘It is Finished!’ Then He bowed His head and gave up His spirit. These things happened in fulfilment of the Scriptures that say, ‘Not one of His bones will be broken,’ (Psalm 34:20) and ‘They will look on the one they pierced.’ (Zechariah 12:10) – Slide 14

63: Jesus is Resurrected by God from the Dead!
Luke 24:1-7
But very early on Sunday morning the women went to the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared. They found that the stone had been rolled away from the entrance. So they went in, but they didn’t find the body of the Lord Jesus. As they stood there puzzled, two men suddenly appeared to them, clothed in dazzling robes. The women were terrified and bowed with their faces to the ground. Then the men asked, ‘Why are you looking among the dead for someone who is alive? He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead! Remember what He told you back in Galilee, that the Son of Man must be betrayed into the hands of sinful men and be crucified, and that He would rise again on the third day.’ – Slide 15

64: Jesus Appears to His Disciples on the Road to Emmaus.
Luke 24:13-15, 25-27
That same day, two of Jesus’ followers were walking to the village of Emmaus, seven miles from Jerusalem. As they walked along they were talking about everything that had happened. As they talked and discussed these things, Jesus himself suddenly came and began walking with them.
… Then Jesus said to them, ‘You foolish people! You find it so hard to believe all that the prophets wrote in the Scriptures. Wasn’t it clearly predicted that the Messiah would have to suffer all these things before entering His glory?’ Then Jesus took them through the writings of Moses and all the prophets, explaining from all the Scriptures the things concerning himself. – Slide 16

65: Jesus Gives His Disciples the Great Commission.
Matthew 28:16-20
Then the eleven disciples left for Galilee, going to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw Him, they worshiped Him—but some of them doubted! Jesus came and told His disciples, ‘I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.’ – Slide 17

66: Jesus Ascends into Heaven and Promises to Return in Power!
Acts 1:6-11
So when the apostles were with Jesus, they kept asking Him, ‘Lord, has the time come for you to free Israel and restore our kingdom?’
He replied, ‘The Father alone has the authority to set those dates and times, and they are not for you to know. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.’
After saying this, He was taken up into a cloud while they were watching, and they could no longer see Him. As they strained to see Him rising into heaven, two white-robed men suddenly stood among them. “Men of Galilee,’ they said, ‘why are you standing here staring into heaven? Jesus has been taken from you into heaven, but someday He will return from heaven in the same way you saw Him go!’ – Slide 18

67: The Holy Spirit Arrives at Pentecost! The Gospel of Jesus Christ is Proclaimed!
Acts 2:1-6
On the day of Pentecost all the believers were meeting together in one place. Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm, and it filled the house where they were sitting. Then, what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them. And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability. At that time there were devout Jews from every nation living in Jerusalem. When they heard the loud noise, everyone came running, and they were bewildered to hear their own languages being spoken by the believers. – Slide 19

68: Jesus is Worshiped in the Throne room of Heaven.
Revelation 4:7-11
The first of these living beings was like a lion; the second was like an ox; the third had a human face; and the fourth was like an eagle in flight. Each of these living beings had six wings, and their wings were covered all over with eyes, inside and out. Day after day and night after night they keep on saying, ‘Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty—the one who always was, who is, and who is still to come.’ Whenever the living beings give glory and honour and thanks to the one sitting on the throne (the one who lives forever and ever), the twenty-four elders fall down and worship the one sitting on the throne (the one who lives forever and ever). And they lay their crowns before the throne and say, ‘You are worthy, O Lord our God, to receive glory and honour and power. For you created all things, and they exist because you created what you pleased.’ – Slide 20

69: Jesus Returns in Power, Satan is Defeated!
Revelation 19:11-16
Then I saw heaven opened, and a white horse was standing there. Its rider was named Faithful and True, for He judges fairly and wages a righteous war. His eyes were like flames of fire, and on His head were many crowns. A name was written on Him that no one understood except himself. He wore a robe dipped in blood, and His title was the Word of God. The armies of heaven, dressed in the finest of pure white linen, followed Him on white horses. From His mouth came a sharp sword to strike down the nations. He will rule them with an iron rod. He will release the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty, like juice flowing from a wine press. On His robe at His thigh was written this title: King of all kings and Lord of all lords. – Slide 21

70: Jesus Creates a New Heaven and Earth! Be Ready Jesus is Coming Soon.
Revelation 22:7-13
‘Look, I am coming soon! Blessed are those who obey the words of prophecy written in this book.’
I, John, am the one who heard and saw all these things. And when I heard and saw them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who showed them to me. But he said, ‘No, don’t worship me. I am a servant of God, just like you and your brothers the prophets, as well as all who obey what is written in this book. Worship only God!’ Then He instructed me, ‘Do not seal up the prophetic words in this book, for the time is near. Let the one who is doing harm continue to do harm; let the one who is vile continue to be vile; let the one who is righteous continue to live righteously; let the one who is holy continue to be holy.’
‘Look, I am coming soon, bringing my reward with me to repay all people according to their deeds. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.’ – Slide 22
